Cotton Prices Steady in South India

Mumbai (commodities control) - Cotton Prices were steady-to-weak in South Indian markets amid dull trading session in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reported arrivals of 1200 bales, down 300 bales. Meanwhile Karnataka registered arrivals of 1500 bales. 30-31 mm cotton in Adilabad and Guntur were quoted at Rs 34,500-36,500 and 29MM variety was priced at Rs 33,500-34,000/candy. 29 mm in Adoni and Bhainsa was quoted at Rs 33,000-33,500 and 29.5+MM was priced steady at Rs 33,500-34,000/candy. Meanwhile in Warangal, 29MM cotton was quoted at Rs 33,000-34,500 and 29.5- 30MM was priced at Rs 34,200-34,800/candy. 30 mm cotton in Karnataka was priced at Rs 34,800-35,200 and 29MM was quoted at Rs 34,500-34,800/candy. While DCH traded in the range of Rs 54,000-56,000/candy. Traders reveal that millers are bargaining heavily before making any purchases. Although sellers are unwilling to lower prices.
