MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) – Burma Urad settled weak Rs 50-100/100Kg at Chennai and Mumbai on Monday, as sellers were active in the market at higher rates.

Buyers were sidelined and keeping closely watch Supreme court hearing on 8 July.

Moreover, purchasing from millers was slack despite less ready stock of imported Urad as offtake in processed Urad reported negligible.

However, upcoming supply from Burma till July end is below expectation against annual quota licence.

But, kharif sowing reported higher and new crop likely from september end in domestic markets.

Government reduced the deadline for Urad Import Annual Quota Of 4 lakh MT by 6 months to 31st August, 2020.

All India Pulse Mills Association taking a serious note of frequent changes in import policies has urged the Union government to increase import duration of urad in the country from August 30, 2020 to March 31, 2021.
