Mumbai (Commodities Control) – Gujarat cotton prices dropped Rs 100-200/Candy amid weak demand from state mills. The state reported arrivals of 18,000 bales of cotton.

Kapas was quoted at Rs 4450-4850 and cottonseed was priced at Rs 2325-2525/Quintal. Cottonseed oilcake traded in the range of Rs 2200-2480/Quintal.

Sankar-6 29mm cotton was quoted at Rs 32,500-32,700 and 28.5+mm was priced at Rs 31,700-32,300/Candy, while 28mm was priced at Rs 31,400-31,500/Candy.

Trade is affected by labour shortage amid rising cases of coronavirus. Many mills are reportedly shutting down after reopening sometime back.
