Gujarat: Cotton Prices Drop Rs 100 Amid Negligible Demand

Mumbai (Commodities Control) – Cotton prices collapsed Rs 100/Candy in Gujarat amid limited trade activity. State registered arrivals of 17,000 bales, as kapas was quoted at Rs 4450-4950 and cottonseed was priced at Rs 2300-2500/Quintal. Cottonseed oil cake was quoted at Rs 2120-2460/Quintal.

29mm cotton in the state was quoted at Rs 32,500-32,700 and 28+mm was priced at Rs 32,000-32,300/Candy, while 28mm traded in the range of Rs 31,600-32,000/Candy.

According to the traders, labour shortage is affecting mills’ operation, however there’s barely any demand in the market.
