Mumbai (Commodities Control) – Supreme Court has once again handed over the case of pulses import to Jaipur High Court. This is nearly year old case now. SC has ordered the hearing of the case to be conducted at Jaipur High Court, along with the decision to be announced within a month’s time.

According to the trader sources, the hearing will commence in Jaipur HC from 26th May.

The case pertains to the quantitative restriction imposed on pulses import by DGFT, due to which some importers’ struggled with the release of their containers. Millers/traders, thus, approached Jaipur HC last year to seek resolution for the case.

Sources reveal that due to delay in High Court’s decision, tonnes of imported peas and urad continue to stuck at various Indian ports.
