Jeera Moves Ahead Amid Heavy Demand

Mumbai (Commodities Control) – Jeera prices edged Rs 15-20/20Kg higher amid rising demand from stockists and outstation traders. The state mandi reported arrivals of 37,000 bags. On NCDEX, June contract settled Rs 25 higher at Rs 13,405/Quintal.

Rough Jeera was quoted at Rs 1940-2270 and NCDEX variety was priced at Rs 2345-2550/20Kgs in Unjha.

In Rajkot of Gujarat, however, jeera prices quoted at levels of prior session amid arrivals of 800 bags.

Traders are reporting heavy arrivals of the spice as farmers are releasing their stocks after ease in lockdown restrictions. However there’s heavy demand from neighbouring states and spice manufacturers. Although labour shortage has slowed the pace of business transaction.
