Spot Turmeric Ends Firm On Shortage Of Quality Supplies

Mumbai (Commodities Control) It was a day of average trade and, generally, steady prices for turmeric. DP Gatta and Dp Finger varieties upped nearly Rs 100-200/Quintal in Nizamabad.

While Nizamabad mandi registered arrival of 17,000 bags, the major markets in the country al-together reported arrivals of nearly 24,000 bags.

DP Gatta was quoted at RS 6500 up Rs 200 in Nizamabad. While its Finger variety was priced at Rs 6600/Quintal, up Rs 100.

Market participants noted shortage of good-quality turmeric, despite rise in arrivals.

Amidst the steady-to-positive spot markets, turmeric futures ended lower. March contract on NCDEX settled Rs 46 or 0.76% lower at Rs 6020/Quintal.
