NEW DELHI (Commoditiescontrol) - Spot mentha oil prices edged higher at key markets of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday due to the low level buying from pharmaceutical and consuming industries.

According to traders, the overall sentiment is weak as farmers are offloading their produce, expecting further fall in the price. Expectation of higher acreage this season and China demand concerns is weighing on sentiment.

Mentha oil prices in Chandausi, Sambhal and Rampur quoted at Rs 1,280/kg, Rs 1,305/kg and Rs 1,275/kg, respectively.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), mentha oil contract for delivery in March ended higher by Rs 12.30 or 1.07 percent at Rs 1,160 per kg.
