Spot Mentha Falls Further On Lacklustre Demand

NEW DELHI (Commoditiescontrol) - Spot mentha oil prices weakened further at key markets of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday due to expectation of a higher acreage and lukewarm demand.

At present, sowing of mint roots in nurseries is going on, and ideal time for the same is January 15 to February 15. Transplantation would start by February end.

Mentha oil prices in Chandausi, Sambhal and Rampur quoted at Rs 1,275/kg, Rs 1,295/kg and Rs 1,270/kg, respectively.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), mentha oil contract for delivery in February ended lower by Rs 28.10 or 2.36 percent at Rs 1,160.20 per kg.
