Gujarat's 2019-20 Jeera Sowing Up 40.36% Y/Y Till Jan 20

NEW DELHI (Commoditiescontrol) - Total area sown under jeera/cumin in Gujarat, the largest producing state, was at 4.88 lakh hectares as on January 20 in the current 2019-20 rabi season, up 40.36 percent or 1,40,282 hectares from 3.48 lakh hectares over the year-ago period, as per the state agriculture department's data.

In case of coriander/dhania, area was higher at 82,292 hectares so far this rabi season as against 29,630 hectares in the same period last year.
