Mumbai (Commodities control) – Domestic Urad traded weak at major markets on Tuesday as per quality due to slow millers buying support against ongoing arrivals.

Similarly, Burma Urad also slipped at Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi pulses market, as millers were less interested in purchasing at prevailing rates amid liquidity crunch and slower offtake in processed Urad.

This happens in the backdrop of non-issuance of clearance, by Customs Department, to the Urad containers stuck at various ports.

Market players were on the sidelines and will keep a close watch on the hearing of stay order of the Jaipur high court on December 16.

However, buying from millers, speculators and stockiest is likely to be seen at lower rates as they foresee supply shortage of Urad. The domestic arrivals are unlikely to gather pace due to kharif crop failure.

Arrivals of new Urad witnessed at Rayalseema and Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh. Commodity was traded for Guntur delivery at Rs 8,200-8,400/100Kg.
