Karnataka Cotton Rises 200 Rs; Global Price Rise, Ginners’ Buying Support

Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Cotton prices in Karnataka Mandi shot up 200Rs/Candy, following in the footsteps of international benchmark. Millers’ buying interest got the 30mm cotton trading at 40,200 Rs and 29mm at 39,900 Rs/Candy.

The state mandis reported arrivals of 15,000 bales today. Here, kapas was quoted at Rs 4500-5000/Qiuintal , while cottonseed was priced at 2200-2300 Rs/Quintal.

Amidst average trade cotton prices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were mostly steady.

According to traders, the price rise in global market along with CCI’s procurement drive led the prices northward. While ginners hurried in to purchase as they expect prices to shoot higher.

In Guntur mandi of Andhra Pradesh 30-31mm cotton traded at 36000-40500 Rs for a Candy, while 29mm was quoted at 38700-38800 Rs/ Candy.

38800-39700 Rs was the price quoted for 29mm cotton at Bhainsa and in Warangal 29.5-30mm variety sold for 33000-41000 Rs/Candy. In Adilabad, 30mm was quoted at 38800-37500 Rs, while 29.5mm traded around 36700-38500 Rs/Candy.
