Tur Widen Losses At Major Markets

Mumbai (Commoditiescontrol) – Domestic tur widened losses on Tuesday at major markets amid slow millers trade activity.

Sentiments are under pressure as new domestic Tur likely to hit local markets of karnataka next month. However, yield of Tur in Karnataka is likely to be low in some areas and impact on quality cannot be ruled out due to unseasonal and excess rainfall.As per local traders in some areas Tur crop has turned black.

Demand and sale counters in Tur dal was also reported sluggish from retail/wholesale counters as delivery from mills is going on in counters which were traded earlier as millers started crushing commodity.

Tur Lemon variety of Burma origin fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,050-5,075/100Kg and Rs 5,400-5,450, respectively in Mumbai and Delhi amid slack trade volume due to average quality and following weak cues from domestic market.

Buyers were cautious due to supply from overseas, stocks in hands of private traders and also Nafed holding old procured stock.

Total 91147.93 MT Tur from various origin, such as Malawi, Mozambique, Burma, Sudan, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda arrived at Nhava Sheva port in October month. Government had earlier allowed import of 4 lakh tonnes of tur by processors till October 31.
