MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Cotton prices moved up by Rs 150 per candy at major markets in lower Rajasthan on Saturday due to increase in demand.
Arrivals today stood at 8,500 bales, unchanged from Friday.
The price of 28-29.5MM cotton in Marwar offered at Rs 37,000-38,300/candy. 27-28MM in Mewar also ruled at Rs 37,000-38,300/candy. While the price of 29-29.5MM in Alwar was at Rs 37,800-38,300/maund.
Kapas here traded at Rs 5,050-5,500 per quintal, while cotton seed quoted at Rs 2,750-2,850/quintal.
According to traders, sentiment has improved due to the rise in global market and increasing demand.
In fact, cotton was able to make an edge in the global market yesterday due to reports of increased exports from the US to China.
