Cotton Prices Slip In North On Weak Global Cues

MUMBAI(Commoditiescontrol) – Cotton prices were steady to easy in North, tracking overnight fall in ICE cotton futures.

In Punjab, Haryana and Upper Rajasthan cotton prices were down by Rs. 10 per Maund, while in Lower Rajasthan prices fell by Rs. 200 per Candy. Trading was slow in the markets and there was limited activity.

Total arrivals today stood at 250 Bales, same as yesterday.

Globally, the July contract traded lower by 0.6% at 65.65 cents/pound.

On MCX, Cotton for delivery in June was trading higher by Rs. 60 or 0.28% at Rs. 21,260/Bale of 170 kg on short covering indicated by the negative change in the open interest from 11611 lots to 11409 lots today.
