Mumbai (Commoditiescontrol) – Domestic tur continued to trade higher at major markets on Monday due to improved amid millers, traders and consumer demand.
On other hand, Tur lemon variety of Burma origin slipped from higher level by Rs 50-75 to Rs 5,725/100Kg and Rs 5,950 in Mumbai and Delhi market, respectively due to profit booking at higher rates as sellers were active due to upcoming election results after couple of days.
Similarly, Tur prices declined from higher rates during closed by Rs 50/100kg at bench mark Akola market following weak trend in imported Tur.
Buyers were also cautious at higher rates as domestic Tur is still lying with government and private traders.
However, demand in processed Tur were reported good in retailers/wholesalers counter as per requirement and empty pipeline.
All varieites of Tur extended gains in Burma market today due to good buying from India.
It is reported that Indian buyers are buying in local market to stock it in Myanmar. Total 3000 containers had been traded. 2000 containers old Tur in the range of $535-$600 per ton and 1000 containers new Tur in the range of $650-$700 per ton.
As per market sources, in short term period some profitbooking likely to be witnessed at higher rates as sellers were active due to upcoming election results. Moreover, Tur prices may slow down once if Nafed begins the sale of procured Tur. However, for long term basis prices of Tur are likely to remain firm, with the progress of the monsoon.
