Spot Pepper Continues To Gain On Short Supply

KOCHI (Commoditiescontrol) - The spot pepper continued to gain on Wednesday on short supply amid good domestic demand.

On the terminal market today only 10 tonnes of pepper arrived. Of this 5 tonnes from the high ranges were traded at Rs 350 a kg while 5 tonnes of pepper from Pulpally and Bathery (Wayanad district) went for Rs 330 a kg.

Interstate dealers have bought it.

Coorg (Karnataka) pepper, which is of 525-530 GL, was being offered at Rs 320 a kg, trade sources said.

Spot pepper was up by Rs 100 a quintal to close at 33,600 (ungarbled) and Rs 35,600 (garbled) a quintal.

Indian parity in the international markets was at $5,325 a tonne c&f for Europe and $5,575 a tonne c&f for USA.
