Groundnut production, within the country, is mainly concentrated in five states including Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Maharashtra accounting for nearly 90 per cent of the total area under cultivation in the country. The remaining groundnut cultivated area is scattered in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Orissa. Gujarat is the largest as well as the best quality groundnuts producer in the country.

Futures markets:

Groundnut is traded in futures markets mostly in seed form and Rajkot and MCX are the major futures markets in the country
