WORLD COFFEE PROSPECTS

Favorable harvest weather in Brazil. No significant cold weather threats
during the next 7-10 days.
Favorable conditions for the budding trees in Mexico and Central America.
The main crop is developing in Colombia. The midcrop harvest is ongoing.
Shower activity continues to diminish through coffee areas of southern
Indonesia at this time. This is a seasonal shift for the date. This favors
maturing coffee and harvesting.
Episodes of scattered showers and near to above normal temperatures will
favor coffee trees in the West Africa region at this time. Showers and less hot
weather favors flowering trees and early development of the main crop.
The east Africa coffee growing region has seen a decrease in shower
activity during the past few weeks. However, more recent weather has see an
increase in shower activity in the area.
