U.S. Northern Plains Spring Wheat Weather - Sep 8

8 Sep 2017 5:05 am
Northern plains highlights...
Dry conditions. Temperatures above to much above normal.
Northern Plains Forecast
Mostly dry weather during the next 7 days. Temperatures above to much above
normal through Tuesday, near to above normal Wednesday.
6-10 Day Outlook: Temperatures near to above normal. Rainfall below normal.
Mostly adequate soil moisture for the upcoming winter wheat planting season
in the southern plains at this time.
Major losses to spring wheat due to hot/dry weather in July in the
Prairies. Mostly favorable weather for the harvest.
The spring wheat harvest is nearing completion in the northern Plains.
Favorable conditions for developing wheat in central Argentina.
Favorable moisture conditions for late filling spring wheat in northern
Kazakhstan and central Russia. Recent hot, dry weather favored the maturing
Beneficial rain for vegetative to reproductive wheat in West and vegetative
wheat in southeast Australia during August. However, more rain would still
benefit these crop areas after very dry weather earlier in the season. Dryness
is of increasing concern for wheat grown in northern NSW and southern
Queensland. Wheat in reproductive growth stages is likely being hurt at this
time. Rain is needed to stabilize crop prospects for the area.
