WORLD SOYBEAN PROSPECTS

An improving rainfall pattern for planting and developing soybeans in
central Brazil. However it will be a late crop which could affect second crop
corn acreage. Drier weather would benefit planting in southern Brazil.
Soybean planting is underway in central Argentina. Conditions are
favorable.
Episodes of cool, unsettled weather in the Midwest and northern Plains
will slow harvest progress. The wettest weather will be in the eastern Midwest.
Favorable harvest weather in the Delta and Southeast states at this time.
Mainly dry weather will favor final harvest effort for soybeans in
northeast China at this time.
A turn to drier, warm to hot weather through west-central India will favor
the mature soybean crop and the early harvest effort. Late rains during the
Monsoon rainy season likely favored the filling crop during the past month or
so.
