WORLD SOYBEAN PROSPECTS

Cool, wet weather disrupts soybean planting in the Midwest and is
unfavorable for developing crops.
Warmer weather would benefit planting and developing soybeans in the
northern Plains.
Favorable weather for developing soybeans in the Delta states.
Improving harvest weather in central Argentina during the next 7 days.
Planting of soybeans in China would typically begin during May. Key growing
areas of China's northeast soybean belt have received needed rainfall during
the past week. This included previously dry areas of the west. Cooler
temperatures and unsettled conditions will favor development of soybeans in
northeast China during this week.
Planting of India's soybean crop would normally begin during June as the
Monsoon rainy season reaches into the area later in the month.
