South China Sugarcane Weather - Jan 29

29 Jan 2017 11:05 pm
South China
Highlights: Mostly dry Friday. Dry or with only a few light showers with
locally heavier during the weekend, favoring northern areas. Temperatures near
to mostly above normal during this period.
Days 1-3: Chance for light rain or showers through northwest and possibly into
north-central areas during this period. Little elsewhere in the region.
Temperatures average mostly above normal.
Mostly favorable conditions for the developing cane in Sao Paulo Brazil.
Summer rains in southern China favored growth of new crop sugarcane, except
in areas of very heavy rain and flooding.
Typhoon activity during this season in sugarcane areas of Taiwan may have
adversely impacted production for some areas.
Rainfall late in the Monsoon rainy season in sugarcane areas of Maharashtra
India likely improved prospects for this crop area. The region is seasonally
drier at this time. This should favor the mature crop and the harvest.
Episodes of scattered showers and warm temperatures should favor development
of sugarcane through southeast South Africa. A recent increase in rain through
east-central and northeast sugarcane areas will improve conditions for the
crop, following earlier dryness concerns.
Seasonal to above average rains through the southeast Asia region will favor
sugarcane production but may delay the harvest.
