Oil Prices Jump Further Amid Mideast Tensions -- Market Talk

16 Oct 2017 12:19 am

0019 GMT - Oil has started the week strongly higher in Asia, building on the more-than-1.5% gains seen on Friday. Fresh Mideast tensions, including Trump comments Friday regarding the Iran nuclear deal and tensions between Kurds in Iraq and Baghdad haven't curbed production as of yet, Kuwait's oil minister told reporters. But it seems to have put a bit of added risk premium into the oil market. Nymex November oil is up 0.7% at $51.83/barrel while December Brent is up 1.1% at $57.79.
