WORLD SOYBEAN PROSPECTS
Warmer, drier in the Midwest improves conditions for developing soybeans.
Most of the remaining planting is in the east.
More rain would benefit developing soybeans in the northern Plains.
Favorable weather for developing soybeans in the Delta states.
Mostly favorable harvest weather in central Argentina.
Planting of soybeans in China would typically begin during May and continue
during June. Key growing areas of China's northeast soybean belt have favorable
conditions for planting and early development, except it may be too dry in
western areas at this time.
Planting of India's soybean crop would normally begin later in June as the
Monsoon rainy season reaches into the area. Early planting may begin as showers
have recently reached the soybean belt in India.
