Pakistan, North India and Bangladesh 
 
Highlights: Scattered showers and thunderstorms over southern and eastern 
areas. Temperatures near to above normal. 
 
Forecast: 
 Days 1-3: Scattered showers and thunderstorms expanding from the south and 
east towards the north and west. Temperatures near to above normal. 
 
 Days 4-5: Episodes of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures near 
to above normal. 
 
Gujarat Region, West Madhya Pradesh India, north and east Maharashtra 
...Cotton, Groundnut and soybean areas. 
 
Highlights: Scattered showers and thundershowers, 0.30-1.50 inches (8-38 mm) 
and locally heavier, through central and southern areas of West Madhya Pradesh 
and in northeast areas of Maharashtra. A few light showers with isolated 
heavier otherwise. Temperatures near to above normal north, mostly below normal 
south. 
 
Forecast... 
  Days 1-3: Moderate to very heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to 
occur through West Madhya Pradesh, north Maharashtra during this period. Less 
activity elsewhere in Maharashtra during this time. Temperatures average near 
to below normal. 
 
  Days 4-5: Scattered showers linger in Gujarat during this period. Somewhat 
drier elsewhere in the region. Temperatures trend somewhat warmer. 
 
South India 
 
Highlights: Dry conditions or just a few light showers with locally heavier. 
Temperatures above normal.

Temperatures above normal. 
 
WORLD OILSEED PROSPECTS 
 
    Diminishing showers in oil palm areas of Malaysia and Sumatra, Indonesia. 
Conditions still mostly favor development after prior rains. 
    Increasing shower activity will supply the moisture for planting and early 
growth of the Kharif groundnut crop in India. The west-central growing have had 
heavy rain leading to likely flooding recently with additional heavy rain 
expected to occur. 
    A variable weather pattern in China's groundnut crop belt. Intervals for 
rain mixed with periods of fairly hot temperatures. Not that unusual for the 
early rainy season. However, cooler temperatures and more rain will be needed 
to improve conditions for this crop. 
   Improving rainfall and less hot weather will favor sunflowers nearing 
reproduction from France east to Poland and south to Czech Republic. 
   Mostly favorable conditions at this time for flowering and developing 
sunflower in southeast Ukraine and south Russia at this time, despite some 
recent hot weather.
