Former Soviet Union Cotton Weather - Nov 3

3 Nov 2017 5:35 am
FSU-Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Cotton Belt
Highlights: Mostly dry during the past 24 hours. Temperatures above normal.
Days 1-3: Mostly dry or with only a little light precipitation through
northwest areas during this period. Temperatures above normal south and east,
somewhat more variable northwest.
Days 4-5: Mostly dry. Temperatures average near to mostly above normal.
Mostly favorable conditions for maturing cotton and the early harvest in
West Texas.
Favorable harvest weather in the Delta and Southeast states at this time.
The harvest of cotton in Pakistan and northwest India is reported to be
nearing completion at this time. Late season rainfall has favored cotton
through west-central India. Drier weather has recently developed and this will
favor the maturing crop and the early harvest.
Favorable weather for mature cotton and harvesting in Uzbekistan and
Early season dry weather in east-central Australia reduced soil moisture
and irrigation supplies in cotton areas. The early planting effort was delayed.
Recently generous rains fell in key cotton areas of Southern Queensland and
northern New South Wales cotton belt. This likely improves planting prospects
and will favor early development of this crop.
