Former Soviet Union Cotton Weather - Jul 10

10 Jul 2017 5:35 am
FSU-Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Cotton Belt
Highlights: Mostly dry. Temperatures average above to well above normal.
Days 1-3: Mostly dry. Temperatures average near to above normal west and
northeast, above to well above normal southeast.
More rain would benefit dryland cotton in West Texas. Favorable weather for
the irrigated crop.
Favorable conditions for developing cotton in the Delta and Southeast US.
Recent rainfall through key cotton growing areas of west-central, northwest
India and northeast Pakistan will help improve soil moisture and irrigation
supplies and may lead to increased planting activities. Rainfall in irrigation
fields of the northwest favors development of earlier planted cotton. The area
looks to be drier and somewhat hotter at the end of this week.
Drier and hotter in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan (former Soviet Union) at
this time. The crop is reported to be nearing the flowering stage. This crop
relies on irrigation and benefits from warm to somewhat hot temperatures and
dry conditions.
Mostly favorable conditions for planting and early development of cotton in
west China. Recent rain will provided needed moisture in cotton areas of
eastern China.
