Florida Citrus Weather - Mar 14

14 Mar 2017 7:20 am
Florida Citrus Highlights...
Dry conditions or just a few showers along the east coast. Temperatures
above normal Friday-Saturday, near to above normal Sunday.
Florida Citrus area forecast
Scattered showers and thunderstorms later Monday and early Tuesday. Light
to moderate amounts are expected. Dry weather Wednesday-Thursday. Dry
conditions or just a few light showers Friday. Temperatures near to above
normal Monday, near to below normal Tuesday-Friday.
Abnormally dry conditions are present throughout the citrus belt in Florida
with irrigation running heavily in all areas. Early to mid season orange
harvest is slowing. Bloom is widespread across the region but in various
stages. Some moderate to heavy rains observed last week were beneficial.
Favorable conditions for developing citrus in Sao Paulo Brazil.
Unusually cold weather in citrus areas of south Italy, Greece and other
eastern Mediterranean areas earlier this winter may have caused some damage to
trees. Mainly dry weather at this time, outside of Spain and Morocco, will
favor seasonal harvest activities. The weather has been more favorable for
citrus trees during the balance of the winter period.
