WORLD OILSEED PROSPECTS

Showers will maintain more favorable conditions through the northern and
eastern Canola area of the Canadian Prairies, despite recent warm to hot
weather. Southwestern growing areas remain too dry with little rainfall
expected this week.
Drier weather again covers oil palm areas of Indonesia and it is also
turning drier in Malaysia at this time.
The northward push to seasonal rains in India slowed during the middle of
June. This likely delayed early planting in key west-central India growing
areas for groundnuts. An increase in thundershower activity during the past
month improved conditions for planting and early development.
Mostly favorable conditions at this time for mature winter rapeseed and the
harvest in the west-central India region. Although a few scattered
thunderstorms may delay the harvest, somewhat.
Some beneficial rains for oilseeds in eastern Europe. Dryness during the
spring and early summer has likely impacted winter rapeseed development
through west and central Europe. Dryness may impact the next winter rapeseed
crop if the pattern does not break soon.
