WORLD COTTON PROSPECTS

Cotton planting is increasing in the Delta states.
No significant concerns for the harvest of cotton in northwest India at this
time.
Drier weather through key growing areas of eastern Australia during this
week will help improve conditions for the maturing crop, open boll cotton and
harvesting, following the heavy rain at the end of March. Warmer temperatures
would be more favorable.
Increasing shower activity in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan (former Soviet
Union) will improve soil moisture and irrigation and favor early planting of
cotton.
Mostly favorable conditions for planting and early development for cotton in
west China. The eastern growing belt may see some delay to planting as episodes
of rain move across.
