California highlights...
Dry weather in the central valley. Temperatures above normal.
California forecast...
Dry weather in the central valley during the next 5 days. Temperatures
above to much above normal.
Abnormally dry conditions are present throughout the citrus belt in Florida
with irrigation running heavily in all areas. Early to mid season orange
harvest is slowing. Bloom is widespread across the region but in various
stages. Some moderate to heavy rains observed last week were beneficial.
Favorable conditions for developing citrus in Sao Paulo Brazil.
Unusually cold weather in citrus areas of south Italy, Greece and other
eastern Mediterranean areas earlier this winter may have caused some damage to
trees. Mainly dry weather at this time, outside of Spain and Morocco, will
favor seasonal harvest activities. The weather has been more favorable for
citrus trees during the balance of the winter period.
